COLDWORKER Records Cover Songs For Upcoming Tribute Albums

October 18, 2008

COLDWORKER, the Örebro, Sweden-based "blasting" death metal band consisting of current and former/current members of such acts as NASUM, RELENTLESS, RUIN and PHOBOS, entered the studio a couple of weekends ago to record two cover songs. According to drummer Anders Jakobson, "It was done in the old 'The Contaminated Void' fashion, i.e. everything was recorded in the rehearsal room a.k.a Coldworker Studios. The songs recorded were 'Den Morka Tiden' by NASUM for Power-It-Up's tribute to be released next year, and 'Crematorium' by REPULSION for F.D.A. Rekotz tribute 'Enter The Horrified' [sic] to be released next summer. The songs are yet to be mixed. A special guest appearance was made by Rickard Alriksson (original NASUM drummer/vocalist, now drummer in THE ACCIDENTS) singing bits and pieces on both tracks."

COLDWORKER's sophomore album, "Rotting Paradise", was released in the U.S. on May 13, 2008 via Relapse Records. According to the group, "The album was recorded at four different location and mixed and mastered at a fifth. The drums were recorded over a couple of days at Soundlab Studios. The guitars (all digital this time) were recorded at Johan from THIS HAVEN's house, while the bass was recorded at my [drummer Anders Jakobson] house and the vocals in Coldworker Studios. After all that, Dan Swanö mixed and mastered everything at his own Unisound Studios."
